Our kids woke up on day 2 ready and excited for some adventures! This was our ride. The kids talked Denver into getting a jeep as our rental car. Jeeps are clearly the most popular car rented on the island.
This is just a portion of the pool at the Marriott Kauai Beach Resort. We spent some time every day in this pool. The kids had so much fun in this pool (the largest in Hawaii) and in the kiddie pool. This is a view from a terrace close to our room. It was so beautiful!
The kids loved the slide at the kiddie pool. I think my children are part mermaid and merman.
We spent the last half of the day at the beach. Anja and Christian loved playing in the waves while Andrew would climb into any kind of hole dug. He loved playing in the sand and was usually completely covered from he tip of his head to the bottom of his feet in sand. We had gone to a store to pick up some sand toys, but a nice lady gave us two of her boogie boards for us to use because she was leaving the next day. Anja and Christian had fun with them. Anja was very adventurous and caught some pretty big waves. Christian stayed closer to the edge of the water and did more of a "skid" across the wave coming in. It was a perfect first day!
