The delivery was set for 7:30 on Thursday morning. We had to be at the hospital at 6:15. We are grateful that Anja and Christian were able to stay the night with my sister, Nikki.
The C-section went well. After he was out, I heard the doctors make some surprised noises and then saw Denver quickly snap a photo. The anesthesiologist told me that we should enroll our baby in swimming as soon as possible. The doctors told me that there was a loose overhand knot in the umbilical chord. We were all grateful for the C-section because they had said if it would have been a vaginal birth, he probably wouldn't have been a still born. We feel very blessed to have this little one with us!
It took a couple days to decide on a name, but he is now Andrew Michael. He is a very mellow baby and very snuggly! His older brother is curious about him, but not much else. His older sister is smitten. She can't seem to get enough of her new little brother.
On the second day, I had taken Andrew into the nursery so I could attend a class. When I went to get him back, one of the nurses told me that they were worried about his oxygen saturation levels, so they had put him on a monitor and had his doctor in to look at him. Several tests were ordered to rule out infection and/or pneumonia. Luckily, the major things were ruled out and his doctor decided, after another day of monitoring, that it was something he would just have to grow out of. He needed to learn to breath while doing other things - especially eating.
Our cute little peanut ready to go home.

We are so happy to have Andrew home with us! He is a joy and special addition to our family!
