Goodbye January

One of the advantages (and in my opinion, there are very few) to living above 6,000 feet is the fact that we live above the inversion that happens towards the end of every January.  This year it seemed to come earlier than in the past.  Although we were lucky to have warmer temperatures - sometimes 20 degrees warmer, we were grateful for the sunshine.  Down in the valley, people weren't so lucky.  Shades of grey and gloom were what you got in the valley.  It was hard to drive into it knowing what it looked like from up above.  Anja thought it looked like the ocean since you couldn't see anything down below.  One night she asked if we were in heaven since she thought it was above the clouds.

This past week a HUGE snow storm moved in dropping many inches of snow all over and cleared all the gunk out.  It is nice to have the warmer temperatures and sunshine where ever we go.

One of my favorite winter advantages of living up here. One day we watched the temperature and it was almost 30 degrees (27 to be exact). CRAZY and felt a LOT warmer up here.
