March is a great time to see humpback whales - or so we have been told. We went out on a whale watching cruise with high hopes to see lots and lots of whales. What we saw were lots of water and a couple whales. It was still a fun trip and we even saw the beach where the TV show "Lost" was filmed.
Our cruise was in Hale'iwa - where Matsumoto's is. They are famous for their shave ice. It was pretty good, although on our last day we went to Waiola Shave Ice in Waikiki and it was even better. It was so good that I went back for seconds!
After Hale'iwa we drove to Sunset Beach. The waves were really high and the kids loved building sand castles and playing in the waves.
We ended our trip with a stop at the Dole Pineapple Plantation. We went on the train ride and then had their yummy dole whip!
