Disney World Day 1

We are back an rested (I think) from our Spring Break trip to Orlando.  We stayed in the Caribbean Resort in Disney World.  We chose this place especially for Christian.  They had pirate themed rooms, and how could we not stay there with a pirate lover on our hands.  Each bed was made to look like a pirate ship and the entire room was decorated in pirate style.

We ate dinner at the hotel.  Christian went crazy for the pirate section in the store.  He couldn't wait to have a pirate gun and hook.  He was ready to face Disney World!

Our first day was in the Magic Kingdom.  Our first ride was Pirates, of course.  Christian and Anja were excited to meet Pirate Goofy.  We spent most of the morning in Adventure Land.  By the time we made it over to Fantasy Land, the lines were out of control, and the Peter Pan fast passes were all gone.  Yes, that is right, they have fast passes for Peter Pan's ride and for Pooh's ride.  40-60 minutes is the average wait time from about the moment the park opens.

Magic Kingdom has fast passes for Mickey and Minnie (Toon Town is gone in order to make room for a new and larger Fantasy Land).  Brilliant idea in my opinion.  One of the cutest moments of the day was Christian meeting Mickey and Minnie.  He had taken his hook in to show them.  While walking up to Mickey, Christian held his hook up.  Mickey immediately covered his hands with his eyes and jumped.  He showed the hook to Minnie who had a similar reaction.  Mickey ended up pulling off Christian's hook to let Minnie know it wasn't real.

Fast passes are also available to meet the princesses.  We met Jasmine, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty.  Christian had wanted to meet Jasmine earlier in the day when she was out with Aladdin, but the line was closed, so he only got to say hi to her and give her a high five.  Jasmine was the first princess in the line, and Christian ran right into her arms.   He kept giving her hug after hug.  She ended up giving him a big kiss on his cheek.

Christian has loved watching Cinderella, so he was a bit shy around her, but he plopped himself right in her lap for the photo.  He is quite the ladies man!

It was a great day in the park!  We had so much fun and despite the park being a little crowded (only really during the parade times -why do the need to do so many parades), we were able to do so much in such wonderful weather!
