Pioneer Legacy
Anja had a very special opportunity to be a part of "Pioneer Legacy." It is a ballet based on the story of George and Elizabeth Fox and their family. It is a very touching pioneer story of a family who leaves their native country to come to Salt Lake City. Along the way their small baby boy dies. Elizabeth is distraught over the loss of her son, having previously lost children on the ship to come to America. She wanders off in search of her son and ends up lost. The group her family is travelling with is unable to find her. Once the family reaches Salt Lake City,George greets every wagon train coming into the valley asking if they had seen his wife along the trail. It is a very moving and emotional story. The ballet school has had the opportunity of performing it at BYU's Women's Conference as well as in Moscow, Russia.
Anja was a school girl. Her dance was very cute and she did a great job! (I didn't get a chance to get flowers for her, so she was a bit disappointed about that.) We are looking forward to learning what part she will play in their June performance of "Sleeping Beauty."
