{Anja}

We marvel daily at how much Anja has grown.  She is becoming such a beautiful little lady.  Last Saturday we stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few supplies for my birthday dinner.  We were in two separate cars.  I pulled into the parking lot just as Denver, Anja and Christian were walking up to the store.  Christian wanted his mom, so Denver and Christian were waiting outside for me.  Anja had found a cart and decided to return it into the store.  When we walked into the store, she was not near the carts, so of course we split up walking the length of the store and looking down each aisle to find her.  We both thought we would find her messing around in some aisle.  We couldn't find her on our first look, so we met back together and started to look again.  Just as we turned around, here came Anja with a shopping basket on her arm.  She had a bag of salad in the basket.  We just had to laugh at her.  She told us she wanted to make a salad for my dinner and so she had gone to pick one out.  Denver then told her we needed to get birthday candles.  She informed us she had already got them.  Denver asked her how she was able to find them.  She told us she asked the lady at the self-checkout line were they were.  We again just looked at each other and laughed.  We then asked her where she was headed when we found her.  She said she was heading for self-checkout.  When asked what she would have done since she had no money with her, she said she would have just waited for us.  While we were checking out, the lady Anja had asked about where to find the candles told us she couldn't believe what an amazing little girl we had.  We could only agree with her!
