We went to the Hogle Zoo today. Since most people were out Christmas shopping, the zoo was almost empty. Anja loved running around to look at the animals. Anja had fun watching the dancing elephant. We also couldn't believe how big the "baby" giraffe had grown. If we hadn't been to see it several times before, we would have never guessed there was a baby giraffe in with the other giraffes. In the Asian Highlands, they had taken the tiger out of his area and replaced him with an Amur Leopard. They like to move the cats around at times to let them explore new surroundings and new scents. The other cats in that area were not too happy to have a visitor. Another leopard and a Siberian Lynx were trying to figure out ways to get into that area. They just kept staring as the Amur Leopard ran around its new surroundings. I think he was gloating a bit because he kept going to the spots where the fences met up with the other cats. It was pretty amusing!
We finished off our Zoo trip with dinner at Bombay House. Denver and I LOVE Indian food. Just walking into the restaurant and smelling all the yummy smells makes me so happy! What a great day!
