Today Anja had her first swim meet. She swam in three events: IM Relay (25 yards each of Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle), 25 yard Breaststroke, and 25 yard Butterfly. In the first event, there were only three girls total in the event. Because it was Anja's first event (at 8:00 in the morning), she didn't quite understand the whole "race" thing. She finished last. After realizing the importance of giving it your all, she did much better in her next two events. She finished third in her Breaststroke heat and second in her Butterfly heat. We were really proud of her accomplishment! We are looking forward to her next meet.
