Little House Days

It was "Little House Day" at Anja's school Friday.  The 1st Grade had just finished reading "Little House in the Big Woods."  The day was centered around activities that were done in the "olden days."   I was able to help with the activities.  The kids got to learn about taking care of chickens.  They were able to hold the chickens and pet a lamb.  They got to comb wool, rope a "steer," make butter, make a tin punch craft, and play a few pioneer-type games.  My station was different relay races.  The kids did a sack race, wheelbarrow race, and a three legged race.  I was in charge of this station (hence these are the only photos).  Anja did a great job on the sack race.  She won the sack race!

It was a really fun day.  The weather was great and the kids had a great time "playing."
